Magic Show

My prints at the Show last Friday. Unfortunately I don't believe I sold anything, but it was a good experience overall. 

A little mock up of a cover, for my pet project. Some of you may be aware that I've been working on making my own comic for a while now.  It isn't quit ready to go live yet, but soon! I'll keep you posted about our dear friend Charlie! 

Here's a little doodle I did from an old photograph of my father, as you can see it didn't get finished, but I love how his face turned out!

Gallery Show and Beauty

I have a show coming up this Friday! I'm showing four original paintings, with two other artists I believe. My theme is a kind of skewed Beauty and the Beast. My show is in Bingen, Washington. More Information on the Events Page.
My show was cancelled.  

Here is a little bit of the process I've been going through. 

Of course, I couldn't help but make a little nod at the Fourth of July. My boyfriend and I went down to the waterfront and watched them set off fireworks from the barge in the middle of the Willamette. I couldn't help but be a little entertained by the amount of people holding their phones, cameras, and iPads above their heads trying to get a good picture of the fireworks. 

This is my little Fourth of July doodle, and below you can see a sped of screen capture of me drawing this picture :)

I got a couple fashion designers that wanted me to draw their clothes on  a couple models for them. Initially I was excited and happy to work with them. However, after I drew the first model (the one on the right),  they complained that the model was too "FAT", and demanded that I redraw it. Now, it is of my opinion that naturally thin people, and naturally curvy people are all beautiful. But, when curvy people have to starve themselves in order to fit the industry standards, there's something wrong with that.

A Digital Reunion

Finished the soldier guy painting, can we just ignore those half-rendered skulls and look at that bad ass background I pulled off ? heck yes! 

And of course this wouldn't be complete without another in progress shot of the next painting, for the lovely Kate :) 

A little flash from the past, yeah Captain Planet like a boss! 

And you can't forget the celebration drawing, because after a VERY long year without my Intous 4 I was playing around with it the other day and FIXED it like a mad genius. This picture basically sums up my dramatic feelings of being reunited with my baby.

A little snippet of the in progress and the finished Alternative Cover I made for 'Titan Magic' by Jodi Lamm, which is an INCREDIBLE book with lots of wonderful twists, it's amazing and I highly recommend you go check it out on Kindle, it's only $3 and totally worth $20.

Regressive vs. Progressive

What I did today in class on the rest of that slob of a progress painting ugh, moving on!

annnnd several pages of gestures. I couldn't sleep last night and determined to do a but load of gestures until I was tired, and I have discovered that I need to do more animals because this is just ridiculous. The lack of skill I have at drawing furry creatures is unacceptable. 

Moving on to pretty things, the model in class today was sooooo Gorgeous! She had the best face and... wait for it...  the best hips everrr. You can't really tell in this picture, but she's amazing. I admit that the quality of art models at PNCA is much better than some other schools but they tend to run on the super skinny side. So, getting to have a model with a bit more meat on her bones is a super gift. Seriously. It was like Christmas.

And last but not least another drawing of my dearest character, Charlie. :)

All I have to say is that Charlie never takes a bath without her gun... what? Chances to have an uninterapted bath are slim in the west. Nate might walk in! 

On A Tank

like a boss :) I'm really happy with the way she turned out and I'm super excited to more work in my Illustration Painting class now that Annie is letting us go crazy XD

Giant Sketchbook Hates my Scanner

I bought a new giant sketchbook for Visual Techniques, it's like 14''x11'' annnnd deffinatley doesn't fit on my scanner. :( So you can expect a bit more crappy pictures from my Camera, unless I get off my ass and use the scanner at school. 

I've had Beauty and the Beast on the brain, since I got to go see the 3D release in theaters, and then I couldn't sleep last night thus  is the result:

and our first project in VT is a Phobia.... but for some reason all the ones that stick out to me on the phobia list probably wouldn't be appreciated by my teacher such as: Fear of Menestration, Fear of loosing an Erection, Fear of Rectal Diseases.. Then there's my old stand bys: Fear of Alcohol and Fear of sleep.
